ATLANTIC ROWING RACE

The Woodvale Challenge Atlantic Rowing Race is under way at long last.  On Monday 4th of January at 1.30pm thirty boats departed from San Sebastian, La Gomera, to make their journies across 3,000 miles of ocean to reach Antigua, West Indies.

With the start delayed for nearly a month due to bad weather, it's good to see the boats out on the ocean.  We have two boats in the race this year, one in the solo open class and one in the pairs class.  Solo rower, Charlie Pitcher and his boat 'JJ (Insure & Go)' and Matthew Mackaness and Charlie Marlow with their boat 'Roberto Coin'.  We wish them the very best of luck.  You can check their progress and all the other competitors here
